Farrier & Naturalist

The Farrier and Naturalist was established in 1828 and continued for three years during which time it changed name twice: in 1829 to The Farrier and Naturalist and Horseman’s Chronicle and in 1830 to The Hippiatrist and Veterinary Journal. It is generally believed that Bracy Clark was the person behind its publication with the aim of bringing about reform of the London Veterinary College. The content is similar to that which appeared in The Veterinarian, but also contains poetry, artwork and anecdotal accounts of veterinarians.
